To Bicycle Club Members:
Invitation to USDOT Surface Transportation Reauthorization Outreach Meeting - February 19, 2010, in Los Angeles, CA
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The United States Department of Transportation (USDOT) invites you to a Surface Transportation Reauthorization Outreach Meeting with Secretary Ray LaHood and Senator Barbara Boxer. The meeting will be held on Friday, February 19, 2010, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. at the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority, One Gateway Plaza, in Los Angeles, California.
The event is part of a series of meetings across the country that will bring together Federal, state and local officials, as well as transportation providers, users, and other stakeholders, to discuss the upcoming surface transportation reauthorization. USDOT would be pleased if you would join us to present your views on priorities for the upcoming surface transportation reauthorization.
Secretary LaHood and Senator Boxer will lead a town hall-style meeting to solicit the views of key stakeholders on ways to improve the delivery of surface transportation programs. USDOT is particularly interested in ideas that will improve the effectiveness of transportation programs with respect to safety, livability, economic competitiveness, environmental sustainability, and the state of good repair of transportation infrastructure. Panel discussions will explore several of these key issues in greater detail.
We hope that you can join us. As USDOT begins the process of reauthorization, your feedback will help us to shape the future of transportation policy in ways that will positively impact the residents of the State of California and the rest of the United States.
Please confirm your attendance with an RSVP including your name, organization, and email address to ReauthRSVP@dot.gov. Seating is limited and offered to invited organizations on a first-come, first-served basis.
If you have any questions about the event, please contact:
